"British Soul sensation"

Russell T Bird was born in Edmonton, North London during the heydays of the great London soul movement, and started his professional career at the tender age of just sixteen years of age.

What a time to be alive! He soon made a name for himself as a young performer, playing around the infamous Flamingo Club, Wardour Street, The Marquee, The Tiles Club, Wigan Casino, and, of course, the legendary Speakeasy on Margaret Street, off Oxford St, during the seventies - where any truly honest soul fan should be seen.

By this time he was a young performer with a difference - being described as a total soul sensation by both the NME and Melody Maker at the time. And so, in his twenties he was established as a name to be reckoned with! The 'London Boy,' full of soul energy who everybody loved.

Then, during the mid-seventies, he joined Sphinx Management under the careful eye of top manager and agent Tony French. He then released his self-penned classic single "Disco Truckin' Mama" - written in between shows whist he was appearing at Peter Stringfellow's club Cinderella Rockafella's in Leeds. It entered the charts at No. 18 during its first week of release, topping even the mighty Bee Gees on first week sales! His song "At the Disco" is now a Northern Soul classic and highly prized as a collectable on the Nttingham-based Black Magic label.

He has made a wonderful impact with his soul performances over this unique and highly talented career. Russell T Bird lives for his soul music and entertaining people.

The the wilderness years set in... Russell went through years of being pushed around and lied to by those who just didn't understand or care. They have no soul or are just plain jealous! Change is a monster and changing is hard - but why should we change for anyone? Russell battled on, believing in himself and surviving depression and lonliness in a world that doesn't always give a damn!

He has survived the most diverse changes in a musical landscape such as Punk, Indie, Heavy Metal, Jazz and Rock. BUT HE IS A SURVIVOR! Lifting himself back up from the brink of despair to reappear on TV on "Come Dine with Me" as the evening's entertainment at one dinner party. Entering "Britain's Got Talent" show he received four yes's from the judges in a show due to be televised around April 2019.

"Well done our friend - you are a true inspiration!" Stevie Ze

Russell has picked himself up, beaten the critics, and and risen up from the deep depression often inflicted by others.

YOU CAN TOO!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE
